This Privacy Policy explains how Forewrite ("Forewrite", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use app.forewrite.com, our AI writing and chat service (the "Service"). Forewrite is operated by Forewrite Technologies, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Contact: care@forewrite.com

1. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address and password (stored only in hashed form), and any profile details you add.
Content you provide: prompts, messages, documents and files you upload, instructions and "memory" you save, and the AI-generated output.
Guest use: if you use the chat without an account, we use your IP address to apply the daily message limit and keep your guest conversation temporarily.
Connected accounts: if you choose to connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft Outlook or Notion (see section 5).
Payment information: purchases are handled by our payment partner (such as Gumroad), which acts as the merchant of record. We receive your name, email address, the product purchased and the payment status. We never receive your full card details.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and error logs, recorded by our servers for security and to keep the Service working.
Messages you send us by email.

2. How we use information

To provide the Service: generating AI responses, saving your documents and chat history, and applying plan limits and credits.
To create and manage your account and subscription.
To send service emails, such as sign-up confirmation, password reset, billing and important changes.
To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
To comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. AI model providers

To answer a request, we send your prompt, the relevant part of your conversation, and any file or connected data needed for that request to the AI model provider that processes it. These providers include Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Microsoft Azure (text-to-speech) and other model providers we add to the Service. They process this content under their own terms and privacy policies. Depending on the provider and the plan we use, a provider may keep content for a limited period (for example, for abuse monitoring). Some free service tiers may also use it to improve the provider's services.

We share information only with:

Service providers who help us run the Service: hosting (Oracle Cloud), email delivery (Hostinger), payment processing (Gumroad), backup storage (Google Drive), and the AI providers in section 3.
People you choose: if you create a share link for a chat, anyone with that link can view that conversation until you delete the chat.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of users and others.
A buyer or successor, if the Service is sold or merged. You will be informed.

5. Connected accounts and Google user data

Connecting Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft Outlook or Notion is optional, and you can disconnect at any time from the Connectors menu.

What we access (read-only): Gmail lets us search and read your emails. Google Calendar lets us read your events. Google Drive lets us search and read your files. Outlook lets us read your mail. Notion lets us read the pages you share with the integration. We never send, change or delete anything in these accounts.
How we use it: only when you ask the AI something that needs this data. The relevant items are fetched at that moment, sent to the AI provider to answer your request, and shown to you. The answer is saved in your chat history like any other message.
Storage: we store the access tokens needed to keep the connection, in encrypted form.
Disconnecting: revokes our access with the provider and deletes the stored connection. You can also remove access for Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Google API Services: Forewrite's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising and we do not sell it. We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models. No person reads it unless you give permission, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.

6. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: for your login session, security, the "remember me" option and your language. We do not use advertising cookies, and we currently use no analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

7. How long we keep information

Account and content: for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual chats and documents at any time.
Account deletion: when you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your personal data within 30 days. The exception is what the law requires us to keep, such as billing records.
Backups: automatically deleted after at most 90 days.
Guest chats: deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The IP-based limit counter expires after 24 hours.
Server logs: kept for a limited period for security.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, encrypted connection tokens, restricted server access and regular backups. No online service is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will inform you of any breach that affects you, as required by law.

9. International transfers

Our servers are in India. Some service providers, including the AI providers, process data in other countries such as the United States, under their own safeguards.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent (for example by disconnecting an account). Email care@forewrite.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for important changes, notify you by email or in the app.
