How do I convert a PNG image to XML?

Is my image uploaded for the text recognition?
No. The recognition engine is WebAssembly that runs inside your browser, so the image never leaves your device. The engine itself is downloaded once on first use and then cached โ which is why the first run takes a few seconds longer than the rest.
How accurate is it?
Very good on clean, straight, high-contrast images such as screenshots and digital scans, and noticeably worse on photos taken at an angle, blurry captures or low-contrast printing. Always check the result before you rely on it โ OCR is a best effort, not a guarantee, and this tool tells you so rather than pretending otherwise.
How does it decide where the columns are?
Every recognised word comes with its position on the page. Words whose vertical centres line up become a row, and the gaps between words that repeat consistently down the page become the column boundaries. Clear separation between columns gives the best result; tightly packed tables may need a manual tidy-up.
What if the table has no header row?
The first recognised row is treated as the header, which is what makes the field names in the output. If your image starts with data rather than headings, just add a heading row afterwards in your spreadsheet.
