Crop PDF

Draw a crop box on your PDF and trim the margins โ€” one page or every page, right in your browser.

Drag & drop your PDF here, or click to choose. Your file never leaves your browser โ€” nothing is uploaded.

Crop PDF lets you cut away unwanted margins and white space from a PDF without uploading anything. Open a file, drag the crop box (or type exact top, right, bottom and left margins in points), and the preview updates live. Apply the crop to a single page or every page, then download a new PDF with the crop baked in so it stays trimmed in every viewer. Everything runs locally in your browser โ€” your document is never sent to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I crop a PDF online for free?

Drop your PDF in, drag the crop box over the area you want to keep (or enter exact margins to trim from each side), choose one page or all pages, then click Crop & download. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so it is free with no upload and no signup.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Crop PDF reads and edits your file locally using pdf.js and pdf-lib in your own browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, which makes it private and safe for confidential or sensitive documents.

Can I crop all pages at once or just one page?

Both. The Apply to all pages checkbox is on by default and crops every page using the same box. Uncheck it to crop only the page you are currently previewing.

Will the crop stay when I open the PDF elsewhere?

Yes. We write a new CropBox and MediaBox into the file, so the page is permanently trimmed in any PDF viewer or printer โ€” not just on screen here.

Can I set exact crop margins?

Yes. Type the top, right, bottom and left margins (in points, where 72 points = 1 inch) and the crop box reflects them live. You can also drag the box and its handles for a visual crop.

Does cropping reduce the PDF file size?

Cropping changes the visible page area but does not delete the underlying content outside the box, so the file size usually stays about the same. To shrink a file, use a dedicated compress tool after cropping.

Can I crop a scanned or image-based PDF?

Yes. The crop applies to the page boundaries regardless of whether the page is text or a scanned image, so scanned documents crop the same way.

How is this better than Sejda or iLovePDF?

You get a live visual crop box with drag-and-resize and exact point margins, crop one page or all pages, and there is no upload, no daily limit and no signup because everything runs in your browser.
