IP Lookup

Find the location, ISP, ASN and timezone behind any IP address — or your own.

Lookups run via our server using a free, public geolocation database — no account, no signup, and your searches aren't stored.

Paste any IP address or hostname to instantly see where it is, who owns it, and how it connects. This IP lookup tool reports the country, region, city, approximate latitude and longitude with a map link, postal code, timezone with current local time, and connection details including the ISP, organization and ASN. Leave the box empty and click Use my IP to look up your own public IP address. Everything runs in your browser by calling the free public ipwho.is geolocation API directly over HTTPS, so there is no signup, no ads, and nothing is stored on our servers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an IP lookup?

An IP lookup takes an IP address (or a hostname, which is resolved to an IP) and returns public information registered for it: the approximate geographic location, the internet service provider, the owning organization, the network's ASN, and the local timezone. It does not reveal a person's name, home address, or identity.

How do I find my own IP address?

Leave the input box empty and click "Use my IP" (or "Look up"). The tool queries the lookup endpoint with no IP, which returns the public IP your connection is currently using, along with its location, ISP and ASN.

Can I look up a hostname or domain instead of an IP?

Yes. Enter a hostname such as example.com and ipwho.is resolves it to its IP address before returning the geolocation, ISP and ASN details for that address.

How accurate is IP geolocation?

IP geolocation is usually accurate to the country and city level, but the latitude and longitude are approximate — often the centre of a city or the provider's point of presence, not a precise street address. Mobile and VPN/proxy IPs can be considerably less accurate.

What is an ASN and ISP?

The ISP (Internet Service Provider) is the company that provides the internet connection for that IP. The ASN (Autonomous System Number) identifies the larger network the IP belongs to on the global routing table — useful for spotting hosting providers, datacenters, and large carriers.

Is this IP lookup tool free and private?

Yes. It is completely free with no signup and no ads. The lookup runs client-side in your browser using the public ipwho.is API over HTTPS; we do not store, log, or transmit your searches or your IP to our own servers.

Why does the location for my IP look wrong?

Geolocation databases map IP ranges to locations and are not always current. If you use a VPN, proxy, mobile network, or your ISP recently re-assigned the address, the result may show the provider's registered city or a different region rather than your actual location.
