IP Geolocation Lookup
Find out where an IP address is and who runs it.
Lookups run via our server using a free, public geolocation database — no account, no signup, and your searches aren't stored.
Paste an IP address or a hostname and get back the country, region, city, coordinates, timezone, ISP and the autonomous system that announces the address. Useful for checking where a server really sits, investigating a suspicious login, or confirming which data centre a hostname resolves to. Leave the box empty to look up your own address.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I look up an IP address?
Type the IP address or hostname into the box and press Look up, or leave it blank and press "Use my IP" to see your own. The location, network and ISP details appear within a second or two.
How accurate is IP geolocation?
Country-level accuracy is very high — well above 95%. City-level is much rougher: it often reports the ISP’s regional hub rather than the user, and mobile connections can appear hundreds of kilometres away. Treat the city as a hint, never as evidence.
Can I find someone’s exact address from their IP?
No. An IP maps to a network operator and a general area, not to a person or a street address. Only the ISP can link an address to a subscriber, and they release that only to law enforcement with a legal request.
Why does a VPN change the result?
Because the lookup sees the VPN server’s address, not yours — that is the entire point of a VPN. The same is true of proxies, Tor and cloud-hosted browsers, which is another reason IP location is a weak identity signal.
Does this work on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android with nothing to install and no account needed. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari are all supported.
