No. The file is opened and processed directly in your browser using JavaScript, and never leaves your device — nothing is sent to a server at any point. That is what makes it safe for contracts, invoices, medical records and other confidential documents, and it is why the tool still works with your network disconnected.

It preserves the reading order and paragraph structure, not the exact visual layout — columns, fonts and images are intentionally left out so you get clean, editable markup rather than a pile of absolutely-positioned divs. If you need the pages to look identical, convert the PDF to images instead.

There is no limit imposed by us, because nothing is uploaded — the only real constraint is your device’s memory. Documents of a few hundred pages are fine on a normal computer; very large scanned files are more comfortable on a desktop browser than on a phone.
